Cephalodians are native to the upper floors of the tower. They are a species of 'humanoid' Octopus, with large heads, small bodies, and four pairs of tentacles to use as arms and legs. They carry the advantages and disadvantages of their Octopus cousins, namely the ability to change their skin color and texture at will, and a total lack of skeletal structure to protect their vitals.

14 Cephalodian years, fully developed and prime.

Yellow, horizontal pupil.


Skin Color:
Varies on whim.

Unique Distinction/Birth Mark:
Cephalodians are rare in the Inner Tower, due to their typically isolationist nature.

General Appearance:
Ian usually wears a deep blue, hooded cloak to protect himself from sun exposure. The stealth cloak is a Cephalodian invention, and is able to change color at the wearer's will.


Reason/Motivation to Climb the Tower:
A queer example of his race, Ian is an explorer, and his tendencies were not missed by Headon, who offered him a chance to climb the tower.


Virtues and Values:
Pioneering and observant, Ian is an adventurous risk-taker, and has a keen eye for details others may ignore.


Vices and Bad habits:
Terse and blunt, Ian is quick to make enemies but slow to make friends. It takes most people some time to understand him when he does speak.

Cephalodian Ju Jitsu is the martial art technique Ian uses to subdue skeletal opponents, despite a disadvantage in size. CJJ basics include chokes, joint locks, throws, and other cloak and dagger brutality only available to the tentacly inclined.

Welcome! I have to say your character is remarkable. However, I want to make sure your camouflage ability isn't too powerful. Also, living in higher floors doesn't make your body automatically more resistant against Shinsoo than others. Meaning, people from lower floors could be better trained, of course it is not always the case. That's for everyone to keep in mind, but what I want to ask you is to make sure your camouflage is not close to perfect. So if anyone needs a visual reference to what I mean, here are some real pictures that show how camouflage would look like:



It's is very good, but a sharp eye could see it.

Also, is he carrying a dagger? He can bring 1 weapon or item to the tower.

I'll be happy to approve once you confirm the camouflage and your weapon.

It's been quite some time since I last toiled in MS Paint, that was quite fun. There's Ian for you, dressed up in his fancy cloak and most flattering shade of Orange.

As far as camouflage goes, it's extremely effective in a natural environment while he's staying still. Even in broad daylight, he can hide himself at the base of a tree, in some shrubbery or pile of rocks and nobody will be able to find him unless they stumble right over him. If he tries to move, however, he's easier to see, though still quite stealthy. In a non-natural environment, it has very limited usage. Ian can't hide in a hallway, for instance, unless said hallway has a REALLY shaggy carpet.

I have seen that video and others about that Octopus specie. And that is why, precisely, I am telling you you can't have such camouflage. So if you are going to have a type of camouflage it would have to be as in the pictures I send you. Where you can alter your body color and shape in some way, but it will never be as realistic as the background you are trying to blend with.

That's fine with me, I never intended it to be a sort of invisibility in the first place, just something extra to make the character dynamic.
