Here is an idea about what or where the Cave is. Baam mentions that he was born in a dark place. This could be true or not, since a baby should remember that. What we know is that Baam was trapped in that cave before he meet Rachel.
Here are some interesting facts:
Bam reached the exit of the cave but couldn't trespass it. There was a shiny but transparent barrier.
Rachel could come in and out of it, and used a rope to do so (Since it is on the roof)
When Rachel first went down the cave to see Baam, she had a knife.
Rachel seemed to know who Baam was, and told him he was not a chosen kid to go up, so she could not take him with her.
Rachel taught Baam how to talk, and basically 'everything' he knows. (Ironically she told him to never betray anyone, specially a woman)
The cave has an image of the Zahard crest and a cross.
Baam remembers seen Rachel being pulled by the hair by a hand.
Baam has met someone wearing a dress different that of Rachel.
Baam wears a white loose shirt, like if he was going to grow really big.
Baam at some point changes clothes to those the 'chosen' kids have.
So what's the cave's deal?
Is this a reference to Socrates Cave Allegory? Well, not really, and Kinda'. It is a dark cave, where Baam has grown up, so he knows nothing about the 'real' world. Rachel hasn't been in the cave before probably, but she comes in to share her knowledge of the outside world. Only, she seems to be scared of Baam. Baam trusts her, so here is the second difference with Socrates Cave Allegory. Still an interesting point.
Here is my hypothesis:
Rachel must know that Baam can open the INNER's tower door. Rachel lives in the outer tower, and she becomes an Irregular for entering without Headon teleporting her in. Baam is a 'real' Irregular because he opened the door. Rachel, on the other hand, is a 'fake' irregular, because she used Baam to get in.
Many people still wonders if Rachel did it on purpose. I say yes, She knew all along. And this is where the cave hypothesis takes place. The cave must be the entrance to the INNER tower. If not, it is obviously Baam's jail, and what makes this cave special is Baam. If the cave is the Inner tower entrance, then Rachel just wanted to find the entrance and go up the tower, but somehow she knew Baam could open it. If, however, there is no real entrance, then she knew all along that Baam could open the door anywhere. She just had to train him, to be social and polite, to like her, and so one day she would act like she's leaving and he would follow her.
He activated the door either by accident, or by will. He didn't wanted her to go, BUT he said 'I will follow you'. So this could mean, he was ready to go inside the tower, thus opening the door. Now, this has only 1 problem. If she knew he can open the door, then most likely whoever put him there, also knew that. So why would they seal him next to the Inner tower's entrance? There either is a good reason, or there isn't such entrance. Not there, at least. Baam can just open the door anywhere as long as he wants to really hard. But, how did Rachel know? Was that a well known fact among the people around Baams prison?
Well, there are 2 options. Either he was sent there by zahard, hence his crest in the cave. Or by someone else, but who? The workshop? Also, who's Baams mother and father? Is he a son of Enryu? Or some irregular, hence he's hated and put in the cave as punishment? How else could he control shinsoo so well and be compatible with Enryu's thorn? And most interesting... Rachel was forbidden to see him. I argue that the hand pulling Rachel's hair could be one of two options. There is a third one: It was Baam, but I don't see any evidence other than the fact we have only seen Baam and Rachel (and a 2nd girl) in the cave. My first option is that someone pulled Rachel away from Baam, because she is not allowed to see him. The reason I don't think it's Baam pulling her is because she's looking straight foward. She's looking at Baam. Which leads me to the second option. Is she yelling at baam to run away? Maybe she is not being pulled away from Baam, but just being attack by someone trying to kill or punish Baam. The ingenious part is that SIU draw her looking to a side. She's not looking to us, nor can we see the back of her head. Meaning either baam was hidden (but I doubt it), or just that SIU doesn't want to reveal if it's baam pulling her, her looking at baam, or if baam is hiding somewhere (which I still doubt and don't don't it as an option)
The girl in white/yellow dress could be Rachel's mother or mentor, or friend. Who came to tell baam she wasn't allowed to see him. But she is depicted as a kind figure, so it's very controversial, since Baam only talks about Rachel being his only friend. Maybe is Rachel herself.
Why does Baam wear that white shirt, and then changes to the chosen clothes? Simple. Rachel steal those for him (the new clothes), and gives him a cleaver because she knows he will need it inside the tower. Is it possible baam can mutate into a bigger and stronger beast? Like Bruce Banner turns into the Hulk? Maybe. It sounds anti climatic tho. It would give hope to the idea that baam was pulling Rachel's hair, and why his clothes are so big. But, it is just a wild speculation.
What do you think? I hope I haven't miss anything, otherwise I will add it later.
